Dominoes

As the name indicates, this involves playing a game of dominoes while holding your position underwater - without touching the bottom of the pool! This exercise will help you perfect your underwater “hovering”, allowing you to work on your balance and your breathing. Don’t forget, though: you’ll need a weighted set of dominoes!

Underwater frisbee

To play this game, you’re going to need a frisbee specially designed for underwater use. The idea is to maintain your depth while passing the frisbee in full diving gear, but without either touching the bottom or surfacing. The goal here? Keeping your balance for as long as possible.

Underwater tennis

For this activity, you’re going to need plastic rackets and a solid plastic ball. The idea here is to pass the ball as many times as possible between you and your partner, without surfacing or touching the bottom of the pool. If the ball touches the bottom or reaches the surface, your opponent scores a point. Underwater tennis is primarily used for working on your lung ballast, as well as your balance and breathing.

Football

It’s possible to play football underwater! All you need is a ball filled with pressurized salt water.
After that, all you have to do is pass the ball between your team as often as possible, while keeping the ball off the bottom of the pool.

Bowling

For this game, the diver has to knock down a series of bowling pins stood on the bottom of the pool, either with the help of an underwater frisbee or a solid plastic ball. The aim of this exercise is mainly to work on your finning and on maintaining your depth level.

For this, you’re going to need a spoon and a ping-pong ball. The aim here is to get from one side of the pool to the other, spoon in hand and without letting the ball get away. Depending on the rules, this game can either be a race against your partner (the first one to get to the other side of the pool wins), or you can try running a relay race with small teams.
