Have you treated yourself to a merino wool product but are afraid of having to take care of it, as if it were a cashmere wrap? Don't panic, we are here to give you all the tips you need to keep your merino wool garment in good condition for as long as possible.
READ MOREThanks to its installation and odor reduction properties, merino wool is the ideal solution for every trekker who wants to travel light with only the bare essentials.
Whether it is a T-shirt, sweatshirt, sports bra, tights, briefs or leggings, buff, hat, or even gloves, all the trekker's clothes can be made of wool. This is why the washing should remain easy: no need to do it by hand or with a special washing product!
Do not put it in a tumble dryer, whatever the situation. This could shrink the garment: a quick air dry is the best option. What's more, you can skip your ironing duties because, in the long run, it damages the fibers.

Wool is a little more delicate than synthetic textiles or cotton, but its advantages are such that we quickly forget this. This is also why we have developed products that are reinforced by adding a polyamide fiber that covers the wool.

To prevent moths, you can use:
Their scents mask that of wool from female moths looking for a place to lay their eggs. Because you guessed it, it is the larvae of the moths that eat into your clothes!
You have to act quickly to get rid of the remaining larvae, then you can move on to the next section of this advice: how to repair the snags in my merino clothes (that's well thought out!).
And of course, if there are some holes, it's time to learn how to darn the wool (or give your clothes to an experienced seamstress).
Your merino wool garment has a hole and you want to fix it rather than throwing it away. To start, well done!
We will try to help you with a few key tips. However, please note: if the fabric has big tears or if the holes are caused by wear (threadbare fabric = you can easily see through it), the repairs suggested here may not work...
Level: know how to sew a button.
Level: know how to use an iron.
Now you know as much as us about how to properly care for a merino wool product.
Of course, this does not necessarily cover every eventuality, so if ever you had an idea or you have tested different techniques, don't hesitate to share them with the community in the comments!
