The lockdown has got us all stuck indoors but it hasn't at all dulled the enthusiasm of Decathletes who are still finding interesting ways to stay active and entertained at home. Usually we would have done a survey like this walking around the office but we don't enjoy privileges like that these days and had to make do with hangout interviews - occasional blurring and voice fades but most importantly, we got some really creative answers from some of the best minds of Decathlon (we like to think that way, don't burst our bubble)
So apart from SKIPPING...... meals, taking LONG WALKS..... to the living room or RUNNING ...... out of ideas to keep ourselves entertained, these Decathletes have actually been able to squeeze in some real activity between sleep and emails. And what's the most important thing? What are they listening to? Let's find out!
I am the face of Digital Decathlon! :D
Honestly, I’m loving it (Wait, did I speak while on mute AGAIN!!!! )
Le Lambada by Kaoma (Don't know why I was forbidden to watch the video when I was little)
Oh hello, N.O.S.T.A.L.G.I.A! :) :)
I measure our ideas that are meant to impress you :)
I'm scared of getting stuck in traffic when things get back to normal.
Running - skipping - have fallen in love with resistance bands, stolen my wife’s yoga mat.
Shooting star - Bag Raiders
I can easily dance my way to the workout area - give it a listen.
I am the guy who keeps telling everyone to not be that guy
It’s HELL. I am so used to cracking lame jokes with my friends in the office. I tried the same at home and my family said they’d call the cops.
I have a punching bag if I get too frustrated. So I naturally end up playing “The Eye of the Tiger” or if it’s a cardio session I end up listening to Tamil Kuthu songs (Karuthavellam gallejaam, Maari theme song).
It’s got that punch to it. It’s loud and has that one thing that I have been missing during this time at home. Chaos!
I tend to believe I am a Data-Driven Storyteller
I have a love-hate relationship with #WFH.
Zumba, Dance Fitness, Strength & Conditioning and my favorite Jhadooo Pochaaa :D
Haha, I think I have more than 1. I go for Hindi tracks for Dance Fitness if I am doing it on my own (otherwise whichever video I am following) -- Aaja Aaja Mein Hun Pyaar Tera, Kamariya, Tamma Tamma, etc.
I am a big hindi music fan and using the same songs for dance or cooking or even while I am doing any house chores makes me happy.
I TRACK what people do and REPORT it back.
Very productive. I use the time I save on deciding what to wear, in reading. Also, fashion brands should launch a new line of fusion workwear, I am getting too comfortable wearing a shirt with pyjamas.
Online workout coaches have really stepped up. I hope to keep pace before they go off the air.
Martin Garrix - High on life
It starts slow but builds up into some heart-pumping music.
I am the guy who keeps being told to make the logo bigger and make the blue, bluer (ya right like that’s even possible)
I LOVE IT! But I also need human contact, I was going to tell my manager that I want to work from home for a week the day before the lockdown (we’ll be careful what you wish for because it might come true.)
I keep moving to different spots at home to find a comfortable way to work. There are some really noisy children in my building so it makes work calls on Zoom a peach.
Well the one song that I am listening on repeat is “ I’m bored in the house - Tyga x Curtis Roach”
It really is the most apt song for this lockdown and what’s more, I can freestyle and make up the lyrics as I want because it has a sick beat.
In the constant search of finding the sweet spot of getting you onboard & hooked on our digital platforms
Exploring alternate job options, I realised I can be a good cook, maid and even a Pilates Instructor once the lockdown is over ;)
Tyga, Curtis Roach - Bored in the house
Sets in the current mood perfectly and has a good beat to it
“Parag keeps blabbering without giving us an opportunity to talk” - An anonymous customer (also I have a friend who is an industry expert)
It’s all fun and games till you have to start doing your dishes and cook your own food. What I did realize is that we tend to take the office Wifi for granted, the last time I was in a meeting, my teammate’s faces were so blurry that I thought Amoura was Riddhi
-Actively sleeping
-Gaming has become a way of life (Playstation)
-3 am at night I randomly start doing crunches before having a big scoop of vanilla ice cream
-Just discovered a few interesting channels on youtube (For Urdu poetries)
-A bit of reading, writing, and meditation :)
Damn 1 is difficult. I think it would be ‘21 guns’ by Greenday
It strikes the right chordsss always! Oh and plus the nostalgia + the vocals + the music + the lyrics + 231495 other things …… + I like the band + ….
Chief Storyteller
I am loving it except I miss my team. More reading, sunrise and sunset watching, discovering bird nests in trees, stalkishly watching my plants grow and is there anything more comforting than an afternoon nap?
Fortunately or unfortunately my neighbour is the Cross-Training leader of Decathlon so now I have words like Deltoids, Obliques, Tabata, Bugarian Lunges, Hamstring Curls etc as part of my newly acquired vocabulary.
Has anyone tried Dola Re Dola (Tabata)? It is hilarious and you pass those dreadful 8 rounds laughing. Else this song is perfect for quarantine workouts - **** I’m lonely by Lauv - But otherwise for my yoga it is Mogwai, Tallest man on earth (the dreamer)
For its timing, aesthetics and chill beats
I'm the gal that's making this article possible.
Sure, working from home can have its disadvantages. I miss the traffic, having to shower early in the morning and most importantly wearing shoes. #ifyouknowwhatimean
Papercut by Linkin Park and Under Pressure by Queen, David Bowie.
Errmmmmm because I'm pretty much under pressure for everything. (Work. Clean. Repeat)
