Every year at Christmas, there are families that compete to give the most original present, with themes such as home-made gifts only or presents made from recycled materials. Similarly, colleagues and friends enjoy taking part in Secret Santa where they impose restrictions such as “only presents that don't cost too much
READ MOREAnd so this year, the theme for Christmas presents is: “sports gifts only”. I'm going to share my list of gift ideas for all members of the family - the sporty and not so sporty - because I've found a few real gems. So, it's time to get out the sports bag -- even for non-sports fans!
Her personality type? She stopped playing sport in the 90s, because she slightly lost interest, but since retirement she's seems happier to get on her bike...
Her present? A saddlebag for her town bike that converts to a handbag in one easy gesture; it's both stylish and useful for a spot of shopping. A fabulous accessory that will perfectly complement the town bike she got for her 60th! I've got a good mind to get it embroidered with her surname, Gupta,” because I don't want it to get stolen and her to get upset.
His personality type? He's been a skiing enthusiast for 30 years but his equipment could do with a revamp…
His present? A new pair of ski goggles but not just any old pair: they change colour, at the click of a button, to adapt to the varying light conditions ... super stylish!
His personality type? He started running this summer but I sense that he's slightly fallen off the fitness wagon since the beginning of winter
His present? To encourage him, I've found a rather fun, sports gift: a bluetooth hat so he can listen to music and keep warm when running. And for an added personal touch : I've got him a bib on which I've written “Great for a charity fun run!"!
Her personality type? She's more beach bunny than gym bunny but she's not averse to doing a few lengths, especially in a warm, turquoise sea.
Her present? The famous easybreath mask that allows you to breath in the water as easily as on land - great for spotting tiny fish. I've tried it; it covers the entire face and is much nicer that gripping a snorkel between your teeth.
And because she's into a zero-waste lifestyle, for a fun touch, I've wrapped it in a microfibre towel!
Their personality type? They're 7 and 5 years old; they're always very boisterous and they don't want any more baby toys.
Their present? An archery target board with suction-cup pads for safety but with a real-bow feel when you flex it and shoot an arrow… they'll love playing Robin Hood!
An ideal gift that's both original and sporty!
Her personality type? 2 years old and energy to spare.
Her present? A "biiiike"! Well, almost. Or rather a balance bike (a small bike without pedals) so you can start by learning how to balance. She can move on to pedalling later.
Now you're all set for that first spin!
Her personality type? She's hard to please; I've often got it wrong and she's not very good at hiding it!
Her present? A Decathlon gift card so can choose exactly what she wants: the right style, the right size, the right model. At least I know she'll be happy!

I thought it was an impossible task but I'm really pleased with these original and highly personal ideas!
