Brrr…. The temperatures is hitting down a notch, isn’t it? Guess what? Winters are evolving! With every year, the temperatures are dipping lower and lower. Blame it on the advancing time, industrialisation and the depletion of forestry, but we will witness winters that would clock in colder than the previous year. “What is winters without a chill” you must be wondering. It is great to savour this chill, but without the right kind of protection, we shall be calling more perils to ourselves. The cold is a breeding ground for viruses and with the rampant spread of COVID-19, it doesn’t harm to be prudent. Especially to protect your loved ones- keep them warmed and cozy. Lucky for you, we have just the right solution- thermals!
Before diving in, let’s know a little bit more about our fuzzy friend. A thermal is a piece apparel meant to provide insulation and keep our body warm. They soak up perspiration, keeping them from settling on our skin. Now, any type of moisture formation on skin during winters is deadly as it brings down the body temperature, leaving it prone to viruses. While the moisture is being soaked up, the insular nature of thermals ensures that the heat is trapped in, keeping the body warm and toasty. What makes it on an advanced level from other winter wear is the lightweight nature, with out the unnecessary bulk that we all hate. Thermals fall under the underwear category and hence are sleek enough to be worn under our clothes, without making us look hefty. You can choose from a variety of designs, for bottoms and top-wear for any age or gender.
Now let us divulge into the variety of types of thermals that you can lay yours hands on. Yes, thermals are diverse and flexible in nature, hence we have a vast variety to choose from.
While we are dabbling with the immense types of thermals that you can make your pick out of, here is a list of thermal products that we know you would love. P.s they are all found in the extensive catalogue of Decathlon.
This base layer can be worn in cold weather for occasional and low-intensity practice. The Simple Warm base layer has a REGULAR cut. It is a classic straight cut that adapts to all body shapes. Polyester is the most-used fibre for base garments because it is relatively inexpensive and offers excellent performance in various respects, and especially because the fibres can be knitted to obtain a very lightweight and durable fabric. It actively absorbs moisture but does not dry particularly well when wet. It is limited in its ability to reduce odour.
