At an age where children make us walk a lot, it is important for you as parents to know how to choose their fitness walking shoes. Follow the guide!
For fitness walking, your child needs flexibility and comfortable shoes. Then, the choice of model will depend on how often they walk and on the weather conditions.
In order to make the most of your outings, it is important to choose your children's shoes according to how often they wear them:
- Your kids wear them less than once a week
- Your kids wear them twice a week or more
- Your kids wear them about once a week
To ensure that your child's feet are as comfortable as possible when walking, you must choose shoes that are suited to different weather conditions:
Your child needs shoes that keep their feet completely dry.
Your child needs breathable shoes that allow their feet to breathe.
Your child needs water repellent shoes that protect their feet from light rain without being too hot in dry conditions.
When choosing the correct sized shoes for your child, there is no big secret: Your child must try them on! In order for them to grow, their feet must be supported, especially at the heel. However, your child's feet should not feel squashed, their toes should be able to move freely to ensure that the foot can grow normally.
TIP: WITH NEWFEEL CHILDREN'S SHOES, IT IS VERY EASY TO ESTABLISH WHETHER THEY ARE THE RIGHT SIZE: OUR INSOLES ARE REMOVABLE! ASK YOUR CHILD TO PLACE HIS/HER FOOT ON TOP OF THEM, THE HEEL AT THE VERY END OF THE INSOLE. THE BIG TOE SHOULD NOT OVERLAP THE FRONT OF THE INSOLE.
At around 5 or 6, children are capable of tying their own laces. But to make this easier for them, choose shoes with Velcro fastenings or those that combine elastic laces and Velcro. This will save you time, and will encourage your little one to become more independent.
For the shoes to enable the child maximum activity, 4 criteria should be met:
Your child is a bundle of energy and very active, running around and sweating. It is not the sweat itself which is responsible for unpleasant odours, but bacteria which build up if you do not allow the shoes to breathe.
Check before buying whether it is possible to remove the insole from the shoe. Our children's shoes have a removable insole, this should be dried outside to prevent the growth of bacteria, responsible for unpleasant odours!
Choose shoes made from synthetic materials, or ones which can be easily washed. With synthetics, a wipe with a damp sponge is enough to remove all marks!
